JERMUK. -The world marks on Friday the International Day for the
Preservation of the Ozone Layer, and, on that occasion, the Armenian
Ministry of Nature Protection organized a study tour to Jermuk city.
Minister Aram Harutyunyan met with senior students of the city School
No. 1, and asked them to travel to and from school on bicycles,
which are environment-friendly. The Minister as well as Vayots
Dzor region's Governor Sergey Bagratyan also served example for the
students, and rode bicycles from the city's suburb to the school.
The Earth's ozone layer is destroyed primarily as a result of several
artificial chemicals being spread to the atmosphere.
