NEITHER US, NOR ARMENIA RECOGNIZE BREAKAWAY KARABAKH - US EMBASSY

Neither US nor Armenia and any other country recognize the so-called
"Nagorno-Karabakh" Republic.
The statement came from spokesperson for the US embassy in Baku Keith
Bean while commenting on reports by US-based Armenian website Asbarez
claiming that event on separatist Nagnorno-Karabakh was held in Golden
Hall of the US Congress on 13 September.
'The Congress was not marking "independence" of Karabakh. The event
was organized by the co-chairs of the Armenian group in Congress,"
Bean said.
In the US political system congressmen, as representatives of the
legislative branch, have are entitled to organize an event without
permission from the executive branch.
The delegation of separatists from the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region
of Azerbaijan, led by Ashot Ghulyan, are in the capital of the United
States to participate in celebrations dedicated to separatist regime
of Nagorno-Karabakh.
According to Asbarez, the Congressmen who attended 13 September event
voiced a support for recognition of the break-away regime.
