CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE FROM RUSSIAN AND US PRESIDENTS ON 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF RA INDEPENDENCE

On the occasion of 20th anniversary of RA independence Armenian
President Serzh Sargsyan gets numerous congratulatory messages from
heads of other states, authoritative international organizations and
individual citizens.
Presidential press service told Armenpress that Russian President
Dmitry Medvedev's congratulatory message addressed to President Serzh
Sargsyan particularly runs:
"'Honorable Serzh Sargsyan,
I heartily congratulate You and our friend Armenian people on the
occasion of 20th anniversary of proclamation of RA independence.
During these years your republic has registered notable successes
in economy and social sphere, and has strengthened its reputation in
international area. We note with gratification that the traditional
friendly relations of Armenia and Russia have been strengthened on
a new basis.
Today we successfully develop multi-plan ties with the spirit of allied
partnership. With joint efforts we open new prospective direction of
cooperation in commercial and industrial, investment, humanitarian
and other spheres. I hope your visit expected this October will give
a serious impetus to further multilateral development of cooperation.
I am sure that the efficient political dialogue and the coordinated
work within the framework of integration structures in CIS territory
correspond to long-term profits of Armenian and Russian peoples,
play an important role in dynamic development of the entire complex
of bilateral relations, in strengthening of security and stability
in the region."
US President Barack Obama's congratulatory message runs as follows:
"Dear President,
On behalf of US people, I congratulate you and Armenian people on
the occasion of your national holiday - September 21.
During these days of celebration of 20th anniversary we highly appraise
the historical ties existing between our two countries. As a nation,
which has been enriched with contribution of several generations of
Americans of Armenian descent, the US is proud to follow together
with you the path leading to democratization, welfare and peace.
The partnership between the United Nations and Armenia is firm,
and the friendship between our people - permanent.
Please, accept my best wishes on the occasion of your national holiday.
