'US NOT RECOGNIZES INDEPENDENCE OF NAGORNO-KARABAKH'

The independence of Nagorno-Karabakh is not recognized by any state
of the world including the United States.
The statement came from press officer of the US Department of State
while commenting on "elections to local authorities" held by the
separatist regime in Nagorno-Karabakh on 18 September.
The press officer noted that these so-called "elections" should not
complicate determining final legal status of Nagorno-Karabakh within
the broad framework of peaceful resolution process of the conflict.
"As OSCE Minsk Group co-chair, working with the parties we are
committed to finding long-term and peaceful solution to the
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict based on principles of the Helsinki
Final Act, non-use of violence, territorial integrity, right to
self-determination and equal rights of people," he added.
