GERMANY CONSIDERS OSCE MINSK GROUP THE ONLY MEDIATOR IN SETTLING THE KARABAKH CONFLICT

Yerevan/Mediamax/. Germany keeps on holding the opinion that the OSCE
Minsk Group with its 3 co-chairs was and still is the only mediator
in the issue of settling the Karabakh conflict.
Germany's Ambassador to Armenia Hans -Johan Schmidt stated this today,
Mediamax reports.
"EU and Germany as its member are interested to see the region of
Southern Caucasus full of conflicts relieved from these problems",
stated the German diplomat.
He added that the unsettled Karabakh conflict affects the volumes of
funds allocated to social expenditures from the state budget and if
the conflict is settled the social situation in the countries of the
region may improve as well.
Hans-Johan Schmidt stated that though the Karabakh conflict can hardly
be settled in the nearest future Germany and EU will continue support
the economic development of the countries of Southern Caucasus and
civil society.
