Within the framework of celebrations dedicated to the 20th anniversary
of Armenia's independence and Erebuni-Yerevan a book fair was organized
by the Yerevan City Hall in the North Avenue.
"Today particularly people are buying books with great enthusiasm. The
idea of conducting book fair existed long ago but we are happy that
it coincided with the festive events", Vahan Khachatryan, executive
director of National Association of Publishers told Armenpress.
He said events relating to book are very important for Armenia as with
UNESCO's decision Yerevan is declared World Capital of Book 2012. The
event also coincided with the 500th anniversary of Armenian typography.
More than 2000 books are presented in the fair.
