Armenia Recognized One Of Best Three Adventure Tourism Countries

YEREVAN, September 22. / ARKA /. Armenia was placed on the list
of three leading countries in the nomination of adventure tourism,
compiled by The National Geographic Traveler after an international
voting, the press service of the National Competitiveness Fund of
Armenia said.
This prize was awarded to the representative of the National
Competitiveness Fund of Armenia during a ceremony in Moscow on
September 20,
According to the National Statistical Service, the number of
tourists visiting Armenia in January-June 2011 increased by 15.6%
compared to the same period in 2010 to 266,155 people. The National
Competitiveness Fund of Armenia is a nongovernmental organization,
based on partnership between the government and business leaders. Its
aim is to ensure national competitiveness through the development of
key economic sectors.
