On Wednesday Civil Movement for Democracy "Public Chamber" (CMDPC)
held discussing in the headquarters of "Musavat" party on the topic:
"WikiLeaks: world, region, Azerbaijan."
Head of the Research Centre "East-West", a political expert Arastun
Orujlu made a report. He noted that the materials disclosed on website
shed light on Azerbaijan's foreign policy, and in particular on the
relationship with Turkey, Iran, Russia and Georgia.
According to the expert, the diplomatic dispatches on the site have
revealed the lack of any foreign policy by official Baku. He sharply
criticized the attitude towards Turkey, which received the first blow
not from Iran, not from Russia and Armenia, but from the Azerbaijani
authorities.
At the same time, criticizing at the meetings with the Americans,
the Kremlin and Russia's political situation, official Baku again
has demonstrated its insincerity towards Russia.
Orujlu considered inappropriate, illegal and unjustified Azerbaijan's
interference in the process of normalizing relations between Armenia
and Turkey. At the same time, the expert considers unreasonable
demands of Turkey to Azerbaijan to revise its relations with Israel.
"Baku's requirements to Ankara now turn around like a boomerang",
said the expert.
Concerning the relations with Israel, Baku can review them, if Israel
seriously improves relations with Armenia.
In conclusion, the Civil Movement demanded from the official Baku
explanations due to the deterioration of relations with Turkey and
explanations regarding the links with a number of senior officials
with Iran.
