"In the military parade dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Armenia's
Independence the soldiers of Armenia's strategic ally Russia have
also marched. Russia provides undeniable support to the security
of our country, the evident of which is the ongoing military and
armed-technical cooperation. And to say "a foreign country" for Russia
is at least strange," said Davit Tonoyan, the Deputy Defense Minister
of Armenia.
The official said that participation of military units of other
countries in a military parade is an accepted international practice.
A couple of months ago Armenian honor guard unit of Armed Forces
participated in a parade dedicated to Italy's national holiday.
"France also has such an experience," said D. Tonoyan.
