PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the Union of Winemakers of Armenia Avag
Harutyunyan believes that marketing policy in promoting Armenian wine
in foreign markets requires direct support from the authorities.
According to Harutyunyan, Armenian brandy production and promotion
requires no marketing, and "brandy makers know it well". "When they
enter the wine market, they come to use both allowed and prohibited
methods to conquer it, thus violating its balance. It is noteworthy,
that following crisis, wealthy brandy makers made considerable
investments in wine production, thus, creating unequal competition
conditions for wine makers," he said.
As to the foreign market, he said here governmental support is
required, "which we lack". "We have repeatedly stressed this, but no
feedback," he said.
In addition, Harutyunyan suggested to ban vodka and brandy
advertisement at the local market.
