ITALIAN JOURNALISTS SHOOT MOVIE ABOUT DAGESTAN

Makhachkala, September 23, 2011. By invitation of the Tourism Agency
of the Republic of Dagestan a group of Italian journalists arrived in
the republic to shoot a documentary film on the region. The European
reporters shoot a documentary film about the country to demonstrate
hospitable people with a unique ancient history living in southern
Russia's outpost to the foreigners. The places of interest, people,
public life and leisure of Dagestanis, the republic's investment
potential - all this will be shown in the film.
Within several days, camera crew worked in the fortress of Derbent,
visited the oldest Armenian church and the village of craftsmen -
Kubachi where the reporters got familiarized with the local jewelry
manufacture traditions. The Italians also shot the performance of
national dance soloists of the dance ensemble "Dagestan". Besides,
the camera crew visited Dagestan State Technical University and met
with the students.
The mounted film is expected to participate in the Italian festival
of documentary films.
