September 21, 2011 Wednesday
The following information was released by the office of the President
of Russia:
Dmitry Medvedev sent a message of congratulations to President
of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on the 20th anniversary of Armenia's
independence.
The President said, in particular, in his message:
"Over these years, Armenia has made significant progress in its
economic and social development and strengthened its authority on the
international stage. We are happy to see the strong new foundation
supporting the traditionally friendly ties between Russia and Armenia -
ties that reach deep back into history.
Today, we are successfully developing multifaceted relations in all of
the different areas in which we work together as partners and allies.
We are making a common effort to open up new opportunities for
trade and economic, investment, humanitarian, and other forms of
cooperation. I hope that your upcoming visit to Russia in October
this year will give a big boost to continued all-round development
of our cooperation.
I am sure that our fruitful political dialogue and coordinated work
within the integration organisations in the Commonwealth of Independent
States are in the long-term interests of the Russian and Armenian
peoples and play an important part in dynamically developing the
entire spectrum of our bilateral relations and reinforcing security
and stability in the Trans-Caucasus."
