The exodus of people from the Republican Party of Armenia is the
fruit of the sick imagination of the Armenian National Congress,
member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia Karen Avagyan said in
an interview to ArmInfo, when asked to comment on the statement by the
leader of the Armenian National Movement Aram Manukyan that many
members of the ruling Coalition parties - the RPA, Prosperous Armenia
and Orinats Yerkir - are fleeing them like rats.
On Friday Manukyan said that many of them have personally handed him
their party membership cards expressing wish to join the opposition.
"On the contrary, in the last two-three weeks we have admitted
hundreds of new members. The political technologies used by the
Armenian National Movement have gone out of date. I would recommend
them to use new methods, of course, if they take politics seriously,"
Avagyan said.
He suspects that by making such statements Manukyan wants to distract
people's attention from the conflicts inside the Armenian National
Congress and the split of some politicians from the opposition.
