Hurriyet: because of Azerbaijan we cannot mend relations with Armenia
Turkish columnist Rauf Tamer has published his remarks on Ankara's
regional policy in `Hurriyet' daily. Tamer says now it's difficult to
say who is a friend and who is a rival. It's even impossible to call
rival's rival a friend because the enemies are changing too often.
Thus, Tamer says, Turkey is like walking through a mined field, which
requires great caution.
The columnist writes Turkey puts forth great efforts and energy to
materialize resolution for its conflict. Besides, Turkey becomes
exhausted and tired when fights for others.
`Because of Azerbaijan we cannot mend relations with Armenia. The
reason is deep into our hearts - Azerbaijani people are our brothers.
Because of Palestine, we tense relations with Israel. Again, because
the Palestinians are our brothers.'
Tamer encourages Turkish statesmen to draw attention on their domestic
issues - terrorism, blood, attacks, clashes with Kurds, etc.
