BOARD MEETING ON MILITARY EDUCATION AT MINISTRY OF DEFENSE

On September 24, the Ministry of Defense held a board session to
discuss the process of education and related problems at the Ministry
and in foreign military educational institutions.
The minister of defense noted that reforms in military education are
one of the priorities of the armed forces.
"The greatest calamities are born from unawareness, while tragedies
are born from ignorance. An educated and methodically literate officer
does not use violence, and there is little possibility of violation
of interpersonal relations in the unit subject to him. The deplorable
mores, violence are a challenge to the army which must be taken and
overcome," Seyran Ohanyan said, noting that the army which wins on
the border cannot fail in everyday life.
The minister of defense mentioned that reforms in the sphere of
military education are intended to train officers who have the
qualifications required in modern armies.
