New York. Isabel Levine - APA. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar
Mammadyarov will address the international community at the UN GA
General Debate today, on September 27, APA's US correspondent reports.
Mr. Mammadyarov, who has been participating in the UN GA's 66th
session in NYC for almost one week, has been scheduled to make his
speech at the 28th plenary meeting, which starts today morning.
Besides him, 15 more state leaders, including Foreign Ministers from
Russia Federation, Benin, Malawi and other countries will address
the Assembly.
It is expected that Mr. Mammadyarov will raise Azerbaijan's concerns
over the Nagorno-Karabakh issue and some regional handicaps in his
speech, one Azeri official told APA's US correspondent.
"The main focus of the speech will be the Karabakh - as the Armenian
diplomats have been strongly trying to brainwash the international
community here", the source added.
Azerbaijan wants the international community to pay much attention
over this conflict as the county still marks its 20th anniversary of
independence with this conflict.
Mr. Mammadyarov also will talk about some regional challenges,
including Azerbaijan's role and policy in the regional developments.
At the same time, UN Security Council will gather to discuss the
situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question
this morning.
Mammadyarov is continuing his bilateral meetings as well, during the
UN GA session.
