French Senate should return to the bill criminalizing the denial of
the Armenian Genocide, said Francois Hollande, candidate for French
presidential elections 2012 for the Socialist party.
Earlier ARF Dashnaktsutyun voiced support for Hollande as presidential
candidate, Nouvelles d`Armenie writes.
During the meeting with ARFD representatives Hollande said he would
urge left-wing majority in the Senate to restore the demand on
criminalization of the Armenian Genocide denial.
Hollande also recalled that back in 2007 Nicolas Sarkozy promised to
approve the bill but failed to keep his promise. The initiative was
rejected by the Senate this May.
According to him, head of Socialists group in the Senate Jean-Pierre
Bel should provide votes on the bill.
