    THREE ARMENIAN ORGANIZATIONS AWARDED TOP TEN AWARD 2011 QUALITY PRIZES

    YEREVAN, September 28. / ARKA /. Three Armenian organizations ~V the
    National Institute of Standards cjsc, P. Abajian LLC and Hayasi Group
    were awarded today in Yerevan Top Ten Award 2011 quality prizes.

    Dhangir Asadi, a representative of the British International Standards
    Institute(BSI) has arrived in the Armenian capital to award the
    prestigious Canadian prizes to the winners. Asadi told reporters
    that BSI assesses the quality of technology production and services
    of various companies and enterprises and jointly with the Canadian
    organization Top Ten Award presents the same-name prize to ten Best
    companies from different countries.

    "This prize is awarded for the tenth consecutive year, and I am
    glad we were able to select three Armenian organizations that stand
    out by the quality of their products and services. Applicants were
    selected by representatives of international competition on the basis
    of compliance with consumer regulations and standards", he said.

    According to him, 300 applications from 17 countries were received
    for the award in 2011. The list of winners was unveiled this past
    July in Kiev, Ukraine.

    Yenok Azarian, director of the National Institute of Standards,
    said that this award opens up new horizons for Armenian enterprises
    to enter the international market.

    "This certification shows that our organizations are recognized
    throughout the world, and in the future our entrepreneurs can export
    their products abroad and come out as high-tech quality manufacturers",
    he said.

    Hayasi Group was set up a year ago. It produces over 50 types of food
    products, alcoholic and soft drinks.

    P. Abajian LLC is engaged in control of quality of construction
    materials, laboratory examinations and issuance of quality certificates
    for building materials imported to Armenia.

    The National Institute of Standards is a member of the ISO Board for
    the period 2011-2012. It joined ISO in 1997 and since 2008 is also
    a member partner of the European Committee for Standardization. The
    Institute also participates in the work of the CIS Interstate Council
    for Standardization, Metrology and Certification, and is also a member
    of the Committee for Conformity Assessment (CASCO).
