    RUSSIA SUSPENDS EXPORT OF GAS TO ARMENIA DUE TO UNSCHEDULED REPAIR IN THE HIGHWAY GAS PIPELINE

    YEREVAN. September 28. /ARKA/. Russian company "Gasprom export"
    officially informed the company "ArmRosgasprom" about temporary
    suspension of natural gas delivery to Armenia from 9.00 Wednesday to
    21.00 Friday due to unscheduled repair of gas pipeline in the highway
    section North Caucasus- Transcaucasia, press-service of "ArmRosgasprom"
    informed "ARKA".

    The Russian company plans to repair the gas pipeline in the territory
    of Russian Federation stretching 52 km.

    "ArmRosgasprom" ensures that in the mentioned period gas provision
    to the consumers of Armenia will be implemented from the internal
    reserves.

    Earlier, in the period from September 22-27 delivery of Russian gas
    to Armenia was also terminated related to the works of connection of
    new gas pipeline in the section Saguramo - "Red Bridge" with diameter
    of 1000 mm and reconstruction of bypass road of Tbilisi.

    Gas provision of consumers of Armenia in case it is necessary is
    implemented from Abovyan underground station of gas storage which,
    depending on the season of the year, can supply gas to the important
    consumers during 1-1.5 months.

    "ArmRosGazprom" is a monopolist in the delivery and distribution
    of Russian natural gas in the Armenian market delivered by transit
    through Georgia. The company was founded in 1997, its shareholders are
    "Gazprom" and the Armenian government.
