YEREVAN. - Armenian state budget-2012 intends to allocate AMD 50
million ($135,000) for tourism. The amount of has not changed compared
to 2011. However, expenses will significantly change.
Half of the expenses (AMD 26.4 million) in 2011 were spent on program
implementations. In 2012 those expenses will be fully excluded,
which will allow their effective redirecting. Financing traditional
festivals has increased for 3 times up to AMD 9.8 million. Expenses
for setting and spreading advertisement materials increased from AMD
4.2 to 7.3 million.
Larger amounts will be allocated for the touristic exhibitions as well
as international cooperation in the tourism sphere. Thus, overall,
the policy has become more targeted in the sphere of tourism.
