All the political forces except the Orinats Yerkir party have been
concerned about the state of science in the country, and take in
into account when making the electoral programmes, correspondent
member of NAS of the RA, Artur Ishkhanyan, said at today's discussion
"Science financing and suggestions of political forces participating
in elections" in Yerevan.
As a result of the discussions, it has become clear that all the
parties taking part in the forthcoming parliamentary election on 6
May offer to increase science financing up to 1% of GDP.
For his part, representative of Orinats Yerkir party, Hovanes Vahanyan,
said that his party offers to create a career center and raise salary
of scientists, as it will make scientific activity more attractive. The
party offered science financing up to 1% of GDP.
The member of ARFD Artsvik Minasyan and a member of the Heritage
party Hovsep Khurshudyan said that in their party programmes this
indicator was fixed 2-3% of GDP. Minasyan also said that at present
the government allocates 0,25% of GDP for science, though it could
allocate 1-2% without any difficulty.
