A MODERN ONCOLOGY CENTER TO BE FOUNDED IN ARMENIA

Executive Director of the Armenian Competitiveness Foundation Arman
Khachaturyan and Chief Executive Officer of the Belgian Global
Medical Solutions Company Haig Bagerdjian signed a Memorandum of
Understanding today.
A modern oncology center will be founded in Yerevan within the
framework of cooperation between the Armenian Competitiveness
Foundation and the Global Medical Solutions Company. The center will
include three well-equipped departments, a laboratory with cyclotron
for synthesis of radioisotopes, a diagnosis center with a PET scanner,
the first in Armenia, and a clinic.
The center will allow to detect the tumor at an early stage, which
will raise the effectiveness of treatment of oncological diseases and
reduce the mortality rate. It will also allow to choose an individual
treatment for every patient and will promote the development of
nuclear medicine in Armenia.
The management of the center has been entrusted to the Global Medical
Solutions Company, as it has a great experience in the sphere. Global
Medical Solutions operates in Australia, Brazil, China, Hong Kong,
New Zealand, Philippines, Taiwan, and Thailand.
The program of establishment of the oncology center will become
possible through cooperation between the public and private sectors.
The estimated cost of the program is ~@35 mln.
