French intelligence has denied a media report that it prepared a
report on Turkish associations attending a rally against an Armenian
"genocide" bill on Jan. 21, according to a Turkish embassy official.
Engin Solakoglu, a spokesman for the Turkish Embassy in Paris, said
the embassy asked the French Interior Ministry whether France's Central
Directorate of Interior Intelligence (DCRI) had prepared such a report,
blacklisting Turkish groups at the rally.
"[The Interior Ministry] told us that this report does not belong
to DCRI. We asked them to state that officially. It is obvious who
prepared this ugly report, the target of which is clear. It is obvious
that this has come from circles that want to vitiate the rally,"
Solakoglu told daily Hurriyet.
