The electoral bribes will not play the key role during the forthcoming
parliamentary elections in Armenia, as the registers of voters will
be the main source of fraud, Vahagn Khachatryan, ex-mayor of Yerevan,
member of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC), said at
a press conference in Yerevan on Thursday.
"The present voters differ from those of 2007. Today the Armenian
society needs changes, realizes the significance of the forthcoming
elections, consequently, the voters will take bribes only in case of
extreme need", Khachatryan said.
He added that the registers demonstrated numerous cases when more than
ten people were registered in one flat. The emphasis will be put on
the votes of the numerous citizens, who are absent from the country.
Khachatryan said that the ruling Republican Party of Armenia exerts
pressure on the employees of state establishments and demands the
lists of their relatives, who will vote for the RPA.
