YEREVAN. - Armenia needs to form a ministry that regulates the
country's innovation sector, Union of Information Technology
Enterprises Executive Director Karen Vardanyan stated during a press
conference on Friday.
As per Vardanyan, this ministry's functions should include the entire
innovation sector, high technology, and telecommunications.
"There is no agency today [in Armenia] which is fully responsible for
our sector. The Government launched several serious steps in the most
recent years, but there must be someone who will be responsible for
it," Vardanyan said.
He added that the proposal to form a new ministry is submitted to
the Government, but there is no response yet.
