RUSSIA RESPECTS ARMENIA WHEN IT IS STRONG - EXPERT

Russia is very much like Turkey: it respects Armenia only when it is
strong, according to Richard Giragosyan, the director of the Regional
Studies Center (RSC).
Commenting on Lavrov's visit at a Friday news conference, the expert
pointed out to three political objectives - highlighting Armenia's
importance for Russia, demonstrating Russia's policies on the South
Caucasus region, and exploring the situation ahead of the parliamentary
polls (given that Russia attaches more importance to stability than
to democracy).
Giragosyan believes that Armenia is the only reliable partner for
Russia, and country admits the fact considering Armenia's great
involvement in the Eastern Partnership program and the deepening ties
with the United States and the West.
