Turkey spares no effort to hinder the process of recognition of the
Armenian Genocide, however, as a result of Turkey's campaign, more and
more people learn about the terrible crime committed in the early 20th
century, member of RPA parliamentary faction Hovhannes Sahakyan told a
Panorama.am reporter, commenting on the statement by Turkish Minister
for European Union (EU) Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis.
No one in the world casts doubt on the fact of Armenian Genocide,
however, voicing this fact is a matter of courage, said Sahakyan.
"The day will come when Turkey will be brave enough to say what many
countries already voice officially. Statements by Turkish officials
show that they are just in time trouble," said he.
"With such statements Turkey constantly takes a step back in respect
of potential admission to EU and development of Turkey in general,"
noted the MP.
