MARXIST PARTY LEADER RULES OUT KOCHARYAN'S RETURN

The leader of the Marxist Party, David Hakobyan, rules out any
possibility that the second president, Robert Kocharyan, may return
to power.
At a news conference on Thursday, David Hakobyan said that only a
few political forces in Armenia like beating the drum of Kocharyan,
without having any real grounds.
"I don't see real chances of return," he said.
"I follow them all. What I see is nonsense in the strictest sense
of the word, a new political coquetry, political demagogy, without
any keynote provision. There's nothing about new economic policies,
and I don't see a serious force that has to make a breakthrough on
the ideological front."
As for Serzh Sargsyan's statement on free and fair polls, the Marxist
leader said he is skeptical about such promises.
"If a fair election is what he wanted, he should have cleared the
list of the oligarchic waste," he noted.
Nonetheless, Hakobyan expressed hope that violations in the upcoming
election will be less obvious compared to the previous time.
"They have no chances of rigging this time. The conflicts between the
political will force each of them to concentrate their potential on
the ballot stealing," he said.
