YEREVAN, APRIL 13, ARMENPRESS. Turkish NGOs are planning to conduct
a protest rally in Turkey dedicated to the 1915 Armenian Genocide,
Armenpress reports citing Turkish Hurriyet Daily.
The initiators of the rally are members of the Human Rights Association
and "Say no to Racism" organization. The main rally will be conducted
in Istanbul's Taksim square.
Before April 24 such rallies will take place in other regions of
Turkey as well. "The recognition of the Armenian Genocide is of
ethical, legal, political and social responsibility," member of the
Human Rights organization Ayse Gunaysu said. According to the human
rights advocate, the realization of pain of the past will allow Turkey
become more democratic.
Two NGOs conducted such rallies on April 24 2011 in Istanbul, Ankara,
Izmir and other regions of Turkey.
