MEETING WITH TURKISH DEPUTY PM BULENT ARINC ON ISSUE OF ARMENIAN LANDS

Vicar General of Patriarch of Constantinople, Archbishop Aram Ateshian
and Chairman of Board of Trustees of the Armenian Surb Prkich (Holy
Savior) hospital in Istanbul Petros Sirinoglu have met Turkish Deputy
PM Bulent Arinc in Istanbul and have discussed issues pertinent to
the return of the lands belonging to the Armenian community.
ArmenPress informs quoting Marmara Daily as saying that the judicial
processes connected with the return of the lands adjacent to Surb
Khach Church, Samatia Armenian lands, Surb Prkish hospital were
discussed. The Turkish deputy prime minister has assured that the
issue of returning the church will soon get a positive solution and
he will meet the Turkish Armenian community over these issues in the
near future in Istanbul.
The member of the district council of Beykoz in Istanbul Aret
Cicekeker, who participated in the meeting said that the court has
decided to return the 37,5sq/m territory of the cemetery of Surb
Nikoghayos church to the Armenian community. The territory is of
great importance for the church.
