Armenian President awards ranks, medals to several police officers

Marking Police Day in Armenia, President Serzh Sargsyan awarded the
country's highest ranks and medals to a group of Police staff.
Specifically, Deputy Police Chief Sashik Afyan received the rank of
Police Lieutenant General, and Police Headquarters Chief Vardan
Yeghiazaryan was given the rank of Police Major General, the
President's Press Office informs.
The President congratulated all those who were presented the high
state awards, and stressed that these awards are the state's
evaluation of their service and they are invaluable for the police
officers who are devoted to their title and mission.
Serzh Sargsyan assured that especially the citizens of Armenia detect
and assess each and every positive change in police activities.
`Become modern Police, and you yourselves will be proud of your
accomplishments. You have a historic opportunity to fundamentally
change the public perception of the police,' Armenia's Head of State
stressed.
