ARMENIAN AMBASSADOR: TURKISH GOVERNMENT DOES NOT SAVE MEANS AND EFFORTS TO PUSH ITS DENIALIST APPROACH FORWARD

Recently, in the Abovyan cultural union of Netherlands took place an
event dedicated to the 97th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. On
the opening of the event the Armenian ambassador to Netherlands
Dzyunik Aghajanyan made a speech.
According to the press and information department of the Foreign
Ministry, the ambassador in her speech has touched upon the
consequences of the Genocide and the importance of Armenian Genocide
international recognition process.
"Though the efforts of world spread Armenians directed to the
international recognition of Armenian Genocide the Turkish society
has become more free for holding discussions on this subject, ... the
archives, however, are still closed, the Turkish government does
not save efforts and means to push its denialist approach forward
and exerts political pressure in order to stop the international
recognition of the Armenian Genocide and the indivertible progress of
criminalization of the Genocide denial," Armenian ambassador mentioned.
At the event professor of the Center for Holocaust and Genocide
Studies Dr. Ugur Umit Ungor made a speech on "Armenian Genocide and
the Making of Modern Turkey".
