    ARMENIA TO IMPORT PEDIGREE HEIFER, ANIMAL VACCINE FROM ISRAEL

    YEREVAN. - Armenia's Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan on Monday
    received an Israeli delegation, led by the Knesset (parliament)
    member and Agriculture Minister Orit Noket, which is in Armenia on
    a two-day visit.

    Karapetyan briefly presented the Armenian Agriculture Ministry's
    current description and indicators, and noted that agriculture
    had started to intensively grow in Armenia solely in the recent
    years. He stated that the country needs to implement especially
    Israel's track-record in this domain, the Ministry informed Armenian
    News-NEWS.am.

    Also, the Minister expressed a hope that Armenia's agricultural
    cooperation with Israel will further expand.

    Reflecting on the new agricultural partnership prospects, Sergo
    Karapetyan underscored the importing of pedigree heifer and animal
    vaccine from Israel.

    "[But] Cooperation must be bilateral. I believe we, too, have domains
    that interest you, such as exporting Armenian fruits and vegetables,
    processed agricultural products, [and] brandy and wine," the Minister
    noted.

    In her turn, Orit Noket invited her Armenian colleague on an official
    visit to Israel in May, during which a large agricultural fair is
    scheduled to be held.

    "The two countries' agricultural cooperation agreement is prepared,
    and I am hopeful we will ratify this important document in those days,"
    she said.

    Also, the parties reached arrangement on the anticipated cooperation
    directions and the working groups for designing the programs.

    Afterwards, the Israeli delegation visited the Armenian Genocide
    Memorial and laid a wreath in memory of the Genocide victims, paid a
    visit to the Yerevan Brandy Factory, and toured Yerevan's Matenadaran
    (Armenian ancient manuscript museum).
