Armenia and Israel may sign a cooperation agreement in May, Israeli
Minister for Agriculture and MP Orbit Noked said on Monday after
a meeting with Armenian Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan,
ARKA reports.
Noked invited his Armenian counterpart to visit Israel in May to
attend a grand agricultural exhibition.
Armenia is interested in exports of fruits and vegetables, processed
agricultural products, cognac and wine to Israel, Karapetyan said.
Armenia may offer Israeli businessmen support.
The Armenian minister gave a brief presentation of the agricultural
situation in Armenia, noting that it has started intense development
of the agricultural sector.
Karapetyan emphasized on the need for imports of cattle and animal
vaccines from Israel, formation of an Israeli service for animal
breeding, use of technologies for efficient use of water, use of
Israeli insurance systems.
The Israeli delegation is on a two-day visit to Armenia. It has met
Armenian Catholicos Karekin II and Armenian Prime Minister Tigran
Sargsyan.
