AN EXHIBITION DEDICATED TO THE 500TH ANNIVERSARY OF ARMENIAN PRINTING OPENED IN HALLE

An exhibition dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Armenian printing
was opened at the Kunstforum building in the city of Halle. It is
organized with joint efforts of the Ministry of Culture of Sachsen
Anhalt, the Berlin Public Library, and the "Mesrob" Armenian Studies
center at the Martin Luther University of Halle.
The opening ceremony was attended by a delegation from Yerevan headed
by Deputy Minister of Culture Arthur Poghosyan. Also in attendance
were Mrs. Cornelia Pieper, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign
Office of Germany, representatives of the political, economic,
scientific-educational and cultural spheres of Sachsen Anhalt, as
well as the local Armenian community.
Following the opening ceremony, the guests familiarized with the
centuries-old manuscripts and printed books. Afterwards they attended
a concert at the Hendel house-museum, featuring Armenian and German
performers.
