"Closed borders are not only unacceptable, but incomprehensible for
the international community and yet it's not surprising that such a
resolution has highlighted the impermissibility of closed borders,"
Republican MP Artak Davtyan told Panorama.am commenting on resolution
adopted by EU-Armenia Association Agreement.
MP Artak Davtyan has underlined that the international community and
foreign colleagues have repeatedly highlighted the impermissibility
of blocking a country and imposing preconditions.
Closed borders are unacceptable for the European Union,
particularly when not only Armenian-Turkish border is closed, but
Armenian-Azerbaijani is.
The Republican MP said the resolution is evidence that having closed
borders Turkey "cannot advance" in the EU membership process and
greatly harms its own reputation.
