The wish of Armenian oligarchs to return to parliament is a 'disgusting
phenomenon' and a 'matter of concern' Richard Giragosyan, director
of Regional Studies Center, told a news conference today.
'In English it is called 'Frankenstein's monster', he said. According
to him, the oligarchs have become a threat not only for people but
the state as well: they pay small taxes but have focused the economy
of the country in their hands.
The expert also said he does not understand why an oligarch goes to
meeting with people with a gun, like in case of the leader of the
Prosperous Armenia party (PAP) Gagik Tsarukyan.
'Does it mean the oligarch is afraid of people, or it just shows what
kind of figure he is?,' Giragosyan said.
