The Armenian community in the US is disappointed with President Barack
Obama, because he has not said "genocide" and said "Mets Yegern"
("Great Slaughter") instead.
Obama promised to recognize the Armenian Genocide during his electoral
campaign. Most Armenians may consider voting for another candidate
in November, unlike in 2008.
Elizabeth Chudzhyan, the PR official of Ay Dat office in Washington,
said that Armenians trusted Obama in 2008. The president has not made
any steps towards improving economic ties with Armenia.
Chudzhyan said that appointing Matthew Bryza as the US Ambassador
to Azerbaijan was a bad step as well, because the ambassador was
pro-Azerbaijani.
