Hakan Doganay, Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of
Turkey's Kars Province, stated that excavations in the historical
Armenian city of Ani will resume in June.
Doganay noted that the diggings had stopped two years ago because of a
dispute between the archeologist, who was conducting the excavations,
and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Kars, Haberler news
agency of Turkey informs.
To note, "Armenian" or "Armenia" is not mentioned in any of the signs
placed in front of the still-standing Armenian constructions in Ani.
