MOURNING EVENT HELD IN THE FEDERATIVE REPUBLIC OF GERMANY TO COMMEMORATE THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE VICTIMS

On 24 April, 2012, the German Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church,
together with the Central Armenian Council of Germany (CACG), organized
a mourning event in St. Paul's Church (Paulskirche) in Frankfurt am
Main to commemorate the Armenian Genocide victims
The CACG leader Azat Ordukhanyan, diplomat of the Embassy of
the Republic of Armenia to the FRG Karen Lazarian and Permanent
Representative of the NKR to the FRG Harutyun Grigoryan delivered
welcoming speeches at the event.
The Parliament Member of Northern Rein Westfalia region of Germany
Bernard von Gruenberg was keynote speaker at the event.
Deputy Head of the German Diocese, Pastor of the Armenian Communities
of Rhein-Main Hessen, His Reverence Serobve delivered a conclusive
speech and served a commemoration prayer.
The event ended with a concert of classic music, which is a part of the
project "100 concerts in honor of the 100th anniversary of Genocide".
Pianist Vardan Mamikonyan performed musical compositions by Franz
Lyon "Funerailles" and by Arno Babajanyan "Poeme". Gevork Adjyan,
Gor Harutyunyan and Souren Manoukyan sang the songs of Komitas to
the accompaniment of Vardan Mamikonyan.
