PHILIP GORDON: U.S. WOULD LIKE TO SEE PROGRESS IN THE PROCESS OF NORMALIZATION OF ARMENIAN-TURKISH RELATIONS

Yerevan/Mediamax/. Philip H. Gordon, Assistant Secretary, Bureau of
European and Eurasian Affairs, stated that the United States would like
to see progress in the process of normalization of Armenian-Turkish
relations.
The American diplomat said this during his meeting with journalists
in Istanbul, Mediamax reports.
According to him, representatives of American administration regularly
speak on the issue with their Turkish counterparts.
Speaking on bilateral relations, Philip Gordon noted that it's been a
priority for leaders in Ankara and Washington to expand economic ties.
"Turkey is obviously one of the more rapidly growing economies in the
world. We have a strong trading and investment relationship, but we're
convinced it could be even stronger", said the Assistant Secretary.
