THE CONSTRUCTION OF WASTE PROCESSING PLANT IN ARMENIA IS UNSETTLED

YEREVAN, AUGUST 2, ARMENPRESS: There is not a plant in Yerevan which
sorts and processes waste which becomes reason for many problems.
Armenpress was informed from the municipality of Yerevan that on
financing of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Austrian
advisory "Hydroingener-RCE-KPCTranceproject" company in cooperation
with municipality of Yerevan implements works on technical and economic
justification of new urban scrap-heap.
The studying works will finish in 2012.
The scrap-heap of Nubarashen is not equipped with modern machinery. In
March of 2009 the municipality of Yerevan signed agreement with
Japanese "Shimidzu" corporation on several issues concerning waste
combustion. The duration of the program is 16 years. The cost of the
program is 8 million US dollars.
As there is not waste sorting and processing plant in Yerevan, in the
central streets of Yerevan have been located ashbins. The municipality
of Yerevan has bought 4000 ashbins.
