Yerevan court sentenced on July 31 Armenian citizen S. Hovsepyan to
eight years in prison with property seizure for organizing kidney sale.
To do that, Hovsepyan transported the people abroad where illegal
surgeries were made, official web cite of Armenian prosecutor's
general office reported.
According to the materials of the case, Hovsepyan was targeting
vulnerable, socially insecure people. He gathered six people, organized
their transfer promising each of them $10,000 for their kidney.
Reaching initial arrangement with still unidentified Alex, Albert
and Bagdan, living abroad, Hovsepyan succeeded in transporting four
people to Sri Lanka where three of them were operated on.
Hovsepyan received $2,000 USD for each transferred person.
