August 4, 2012 - 14:49 AMT
PanARMENIAN.Net - Olympic, European and world Greco Roman wrestling
champion Armen Nazaryan wants a museum showcasing Armenian sportsmen's
achievements to be opened in Armenia. In this context, he expressed
readiness to present to the museum the first Olympic gold medal he
brought to Armenia in 1996.
`Our Olympic wrestlers must perform to the full, they must fight till
the last moment, they must fight for every point,' Nazaryan said,
citing both weight and psychological problems as the main factors
hampering Armenian weightlifters' success at London Olympics.
Dwelling on his decision to represent Bulgaria, he said, `I love my
country and I have always done the utmost for it. However, after I
became an Olympic champion, our government didn't appreciate me. I was
offered to return to Armenia only in 2001, but my demands remained
unsatisfied.'
