Yerevan, August 6, ARMENPRESS: Armenian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister
of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan hosted the Secretary
General of the World Scout Movement Luc Panissod who visited Armenia
to participate in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the
Armenian Scouts foundation.
As "Armenpress" was informed by the public relations department
of the Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration members of
the global and regional scout movement were also present in the
meeting. The Deputy Prime Minister welcomed the guests and stressed
the importance of the youth organizations, particularly the role
of the Armenian Scout movement in the Armenian juniors' upbringing
and in the Armenian preservation work in Diaspora. Gevorgyan noted
that Scout organization is one of the structures which connects
the Armenian communities of Diaspora with Armenia. He expressed
confidence that the Armenian Scout Movement has its unique place in
the World Scout Movement. The Deputy Prime Minister congratulated
the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Scouts Foundation and wished
success in the scout movements expanding operations highlighting that
the Armenian government is ready to support the organization in the
implementation of new programs and ideas.
The interlocutors touched upon the jubilee celebrations, Armenian
Scout grouping works. Gevorgyan welcomed such events stressing that
they create an important platform for contacts in sense of the Armenian
potential use.
