Yerevan, 3 August: A new checkpoint was put into operation in
Bagratashen-Sadakhlo section of the Armenia-Georgia border on 2 August.
According to the report of the Armenian National Security Service,
there are five passages instead of former two in the checkpoint.
"Though three passages are needed to be used to cross the Armenian
border, the head of the Bagratashen checkpoint may use four out of the
five operating passages for entry or exit depending on the intensity
of transport flow. The new checkpoint is equipped with technical
means meeting international standards which allows car passengers to
cross the border without leaving their cars. Besides, one passage can
simultaneously service two transport means. This will allow avoiding
clusters of transport and passenger queues," Mediamax was informed
in the press service of the Armenian National Security Service.
