The head of the Iranian Environmental Protection Organization,
Mohammadizadeh, has said that some agreements have been reached with
Armenia to revive Orumiyeh Lake.
According to Tabnak, which referred to IRIB (Islamic Republic of
Iran Broadcasting), the vice president and head of the Environmental
Protection Organization, Mohammad-Javad Mohammadizadeh, told reporters
at the sidelines of the cabinet meeting: "According to discussions
with Armenia, water will be transferred to our country to revive Lake
Orumiyeh. It will be a blessed measure if it is finalized".
The head of the Environmental Protection Organization added that
together with water transfer projects from other countries, other
measures would be implemented such as transferring more water to West
Azarbayjan plains.
Mohammadizadeh also talked about other technologies such as cloud
seeding and distribution of dense clouds to revive Lake Orumiyeh.
