YEREVAN.- Prosperous Armenia Party backs Karapet Guloyan for the post
of Abovyan Mayor.
In a statement issued on Thursday the party said it decided to make
public its position because of "vast media interest". Other candidates
have not been discussed, the party said.
Karapet Guloyan is incumbent Mayor of Abovyan and son-in-law of
Prosperous Armenia leader, businessman Gagik Tsarukyan.
Rumor has it that Tasrukyan has recently voiced discontent with
Guloyan's work. Media claimed he prohibited Guloyan from running for
Abovyan Mayor.
