Georgia
The conflict in the mountainous Karabakh region is frozen, but it
remains a concern for international organizations and of course for the
conflicting sides of Armenia and Azerbaijan. It is a matter of concern
of the entire Caucasus region as well, and it seriously undermines
regional security and hinders full range development of the economy
in the region. A new option was initiated by the Azeri side recently:
this is to grant mountainous Karabakh a status similar to South Tirol.
