UNSC To Eye Issue Of Illegal Settlement Of Syrian Armenians In Karabakh

The UN Security Council, upon the request of Azerbaijan, will examine
the reliability of the Armenian media reports that Yerevan is planning
or already involved in settling Azerbaijan's occupied Karabakh region
with Armenian refugees from Syria and Lebanon.
"We have raised this issue at the UNSC and asked the relevant
Security Council bodies dealing with Syria to draw attention to this,"
Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the UN Agshin Mehdiyev told
Lider TV Channel.
Mehdiyev said the UN Security Council assured the Azerbaijani side
that it will study the case. `If the reports confirmed, then we can
demand from the OSCE Minsk Group to take certain measures and to raise
this issue at the UN Security Council in a different way,' he noted.
